After experimenting with breakfasts and dinners at home, the Mendlowitzes seriously began to record their recipes.

A perfectionist by nature, Joel searched far and wide for a dairy restaurant that would meet his standards. He found that while there were fleishig establishments that invested in quality ingredients, dairy restaurants often resorted to inferior ingredients and amateur cuisine.

He set out to open an eatery that he would be proud to call his own. He began to train by traveling the country, visiting roasteries, and completing Barista Training. (Hava
Java is actually the first to manufacture flavored coffee with a kosher certification.)

With a small notebook of handcrafted recipes and a passion to get it right they founded the first Hava Java located in Monsey, NY. Quality and freshness are the hallmark of Hava Javas incredible menu, where every bite is a new experience. Its a story you just have to taste for yourself.
